This is a full-time, permanent position with postings across various locations, including Wallingford - RAF Benson, Oxford, Reading, and Slough. The application deadline is July 3, 2025.

As a Sponsored Reserve Firefighter, you will be deployed overseas for four months at a time, followed by 16 months in the UK. You will be part of the RAF Firefighter force, providing aerodrome and rescue firefighting capabilities both domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities include:

  • Responding to and fighting fires in the UK and overseas, including aircraft rescue operations.
  • Providing emergency response on the Defence estate and promoting fire safety awareness.
  • Supporting operations and exercises in challenging environments during deployments.
  • Using specialized vehicles and equipment, maintaining and testing firefighting gear.

Candidate requirements:

  • UK or Irish citizenship, or Commonwealth citizenship, with residency in the UK for at least 3-5 years.
  • GCSEs or equivalent in English and Math (Grade C/4 or higher).
  • Valid full UK driving license.
  • Fitness to undergo training and perform firefighting duties, including passing fitness tests.
  • Health standards met, including eyesight and medical conditions.
  • Willingness to undertake background checks and behavioral assessments.
