We are currently seeking to recruit a Training Support Technician to join the team at the Volkswagen National Learning Centre in Milton Keynes. The successful candidate will provide essential operational support to the technical training team by effectively managing tooling, equipment, parts, vehicles, and other training resources. This role ensures that all activities are conducted safely, efficiently, and with the necessary materials and infrastructure in place to support high-quality technical training delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • To maintain an accurate inventory of all tools, equipment, and training aids
  • To ensure all tools and equipment are regularly inspected, calibrated, and maintained in line with safety, operational and regulatory standards
  • To update and license diagnostic equipment as required, ensuring all software is current and compliant with manufacturer and regulatory standards
  • To coordinate the procurement, storage, and distribution of tools and materials required for training sessions keeping track of the spend and the parts and tooling budgets
  • To raise purchase orders and source quotations from suppliers as required
  • To manage the technical training vehicle fleet including maintenance, checks, fueling and de-fleet requirements ensuring all vehicle records and related paperwork are maintained and kept up-to-date
  • To monitor the condition of training vehicles reporting on immediate issues and current working practices across the department
  • To support both internal and external Health & Safety audits working closely with all departments to ensure we drive and maintain the highest safety standards
  • To conduct regular departmental risk assessments for specific training activities
  • To ensure all applicable products (parts, fluids, accessories, consumables etc.) that are subject to shelf-life regulations, comply with the requirements as detailed in the TUV criteria
  • To ensure all chemicals and products have a full data sheet and are correctly stored in line with COSHH legislation
  • To attend meetings with clients and key stakeholders as required
  • To contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying inefficiencies and proposing solutions.

  • IOSHH qualified or experience of Health & Safety and the legal requirements
  • Experience of Automotive Audits and their requirements
  • Good knowledge of Automotive parts and/or VWG Parts systems
  • Automotive technical qualification with a good knowledge of modern vehicle systems & technologies

Salary & Benefits: £33,000 dependant on experience. 25 Days paid Annual Leave (entitlement will be pro-rated based on the four-day working week). Contract: Permanent / Part Time

Working Hours: Monday to Thursday / 37.5 hours per week

Place of Work: Office based. VWG National Learning Centre, Wymbush, Milton Keynes.

Pre-employment Checks: Calex will undertake the relevant/standard employment checks with any successful candidate. This includes contacting all nominated referees, as well as checking candidate ID, driving licence (if appropriate) and right to work in the UK. Some roles may also be subject to further pre-employment checks (confirmation will be provided through the recruitment process). The nature of this role may necessitate that we undertake a DBS check.
