The predicted salary is between 28000 - 42000 £ per year.
For this role, we require successful applicants to be based from one of our Scottish locations – Aberdeen, Perth, Glasgow. This role will be supporting our projects in the North East of Scotland.
Salary: £33,500 - £50,300 + car / allowance + performance-related bonus + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.
Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | options available for 37 hours per week.
The SSEN Transmission Team are seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Assistant Project Manager to join our growing team and support the delivery of a new 400kV AIS Substation in the North East of Scotland. If you have a background in engineering or construction, a passion for project management and a commitment to safety we encourage you to apply.
You will:
- Help manage a multi-skilled project team, supporting the successful delivery of transmission projects to cost, quality, and timescales during both the development and construction phases. This includes working between office and site locations as required by the project phase. Please note, you will be required to be on site around the Aberdeen area for the majority of the time during the construction phase.
- Collaborate closely with the Project Manager to plan, execute, and monitor project activities, ensuring timely completion of tasks and deliverables. You will communicate effectively with stakeholders to understand project needs and goals, while consistently demonstrating SSE’s core leadership values.
- Manage work packages with a focus on value and efficiency, contribute to budget planning, and support the preparation of financial reports. You’ll play a key role in maintaining cost control and overall commercial awareness throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide input to tender packages and contract specifications. You’ll assist with tender assessments, take part in commercial negotiations, and support ongoing contract management, while building your understanding of the Large Capital Projects Governance process.
- Promote a strong safety culture, developing a clear understanding of safety management systems and best practices, and ensuring that all project team members operate in line with SSE’s safety expectations and values.
You have:
- A solid foundation in engineering or construction, with experience in project delivery.
- Familiarity with health and safety requirements, including knowledge of Construction (Design and Management) Regulations, Health Safety and Environmental Legislation.
- Understanding of NEC3 suite of contracts administration and an aptitude to develop a working knowledge of project programming (P6).
- Proven experience working collaboratively in teams to achieve goals, demonstrating enthusiasm, strong problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach.
- Please note, a full current driving licence is essential due to the requirement to travel to and be on site.
