Are you an experienced Civil Operative looking for your next challenge in the telecoms industry? We are seeking dedicated professionals to join our team, playing a crucial role in expanding and maintaining essential telecoms infrastructure.
As a Civil Operative, you will be instrumental in:
- Building concrete chambers of all sizes, demonstrating basic brickwork skills and expertly setting frames and covers.
- Reinstating and laying kerbs, slabs, and mono blocks to HAUC Specification, ensuring top-quality finishes.
- Reinstating black top surfaces to HAUC specification, maintaining high standards for public highways.
- Installing new ducting, chambers, cabinets, and associated equipment, contributing directly to new network installations.
You will be performing excavations, repairs, and reinstatements on telecoms infrastructure located within public highways and customer premises, always adhering to the latest client standard operating procedures and in full compliance with current legislation, health and safety requirements, and company policies.
Role & Responsibilities
- Clear blockages in the highway and reinstate to industry standard ensuring all information/pictures are captured on company supplied assets.
- Be competent in the use of Stihl Saws / Wacker plates / trench compactor / mini digger / jack hammer and hold the correct certification to complete the works.
- Install new draw rope to customer’s premises prior to installation date.
- Complete appropriate Apps & paperwork for your daily works (job sheets / risk assessments / plant sheets / van sheets).
- Experience of risk assessment and hazard identification and a strong focus on health and safety requirements and responsibilities.
- To be responsible for the company assets & plant assigned to you for the purpose of performing your duties.
- To treat internal and external customers with respect and provide support at all times.
- Ensure compliance with all current client processes and procedures.
- Experience in a similar operational or engineering environment within the telecommunications industry.
- Be able to communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external clients.
Requirements Skills & Qualifications
- The successful candidate will hold a full UK driver’s license, they will also be able to prove confident skills around street works and have industry recognised qualification to the following standard: NRSWA - Units 1 – 9, CSCS/EUSR, CPCS (Mini Digger) desirable but not essential.
- Towing and 7.5-ton licence would be an advantage.
- Knowledge of both VMO2 & BT Network would be an advantage.
