Job Purpose: This role will be reporting into the Senior Manager, Employee Relations, EMEA & APAC to support on all employee relations matters. The successful candidate will build strong relationships with HR business partners (and where relevant their key stakeholders in the business) in order to provide support and advise on ER/IR activities across EMEA & APAC. The successful candidate will also provide support to the Senior Manager, Employee Relations in ensuring EMEA & APAC employee-related policies and procedures are up to date and compliant with all applicable local laws.

Responsibilities:

  • Update HR policy and procedures ensuring it fits to local business needs whilst ensuring an appropriate level of consistency and compliance.
  • Support development and communication of new or revised policies.
  • Support the Senior Manager, Employee Relations EMEA & APAC across key HR areas (change management, TUPE, absence management, maternity, disciplinary, performance management, grievance and redundancy).
  • Prepare the necessary documents as and where required and support with relevant consultations with employees.
  • Maintain excellent records such as employee relations dashboard and provide reports of activity as required.
  • Support development and implementation of staff delegates or works councils to ensure compliance with legal obligations in European territories.
  • Liaise with external legal providers as necessary to ensure employment law compliance in relation to all practices and procedures and in relation to live cases including tribunal claims.
  • Coaching and advising managers and employees in dealing with employee relations situations, resulting in their improved understanding and ability to prevent and/or manage future issues.
  • Effective collaboration with global HRBP team on various matters such as advising on local policy and processes and the complexity of employment legislation across different regions, to deliver a seamless one team service to the business.
  • Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders in the wider HR teams to ensure internal processes support the effective administration and application of HR policies and look for opportunities on how to educate the wider business with regards to ER Projects - ad hoc projects or tasks as requested by the Senior Manager, Employee Relations, EMEA & APAC.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Must be able to demonstrate a high level of ER experience within a large multi-jurisdiction organization including experience of managing grievances, disciplinaries, redundancies, performance improvement and employment tribunal cases.
  • Excellent working knowledge of UK employment law and best practice together with experience of advising on employment law related matters across EMEA & APAC.
  • Knowledge and practical experience of employment law in other jurisdictions across EMEA & APAC would be beneficial.
  • Acquisition integration experience including TUPE transfers and collective consultation would be beneficial.
  • A skilled team player with a solution-based approach to address issues, identifies and implements new solutions which add value.
  • The successful candidate will have strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and relationship management skills.
  • You will be a skilled communicator providing clear plain English guidance & advice.
  • Strong organizational skills and project management skills and proactive in finding business solutions.
  • Used to working as part of a team and independently.
  • Actively shares knowledge and case management experience to maintain consistency of approach.
  • Proficient all round IT skills, including Microsoft packages and Oracle.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
