If you’re the kind of engineer who wants more than just a toolbox and a to-do list—read on. This is a lead role, which means yes, you’ll still be hands-on when needed—but more than that, you’ll be managing people, organising jobs, and keeping standards high without losing your mind in process meetings. It’s about stepping up, taking responsibility, and being the person everyone trusts to keep the wheels turning.
What you’ll actually be doing:
- Running a team of engineers doing installs, maintenance, and callouts (PPMs, small works—you know the drill).
- Making sure jobs get done properly and on time.
- Doing site visits and making sure the lads aren’t cutting corners.
- Talking to clients like a grown-up when something goes sideways.
- Keeping everything compliant, safe, and up to code.
- Spotting who needs support or upskilling and making sure it happens.
What you’ll need to have done:
- Experience in fire safety or similar.
- Management experience or experience running a team.
- Know your BS5839s and BS9251s.
- Communicate clearly—no jargon, no fluff.
- Handle problems on your own.
- Be up for driving around London and the surrounding counties.
What’s in it for you:
- Up to £50K base salary.
- Company van.
- Solid pension & life insurance.
- 22 days off + bank holidays (and more for loyalty).
- Recognition when you actually deserve it.
- Clear progression opportunities.
One last thing… You’ll have freedom. You’ll have responsibility. And you’ll have people looking to you for answers. If that sounds exciting—not terrifying—click apply. Or don’t. But if you’ve read this far, you probably should.
