The UK & Ireland National sales team manages a customer base of more than ten thousand clients across all industry sectors and business sizes. With the responsibility for over 95% of all new business prospects, we focus on maximizing value for our clients and driving D&B’s growth. Our team comprises three main areas: Business Success, Business Development, and Key Account teams. Members of the Key Accounts team manage our most complex national clients, providing extensive support through customer success and solution sales teams, both in the field and over the phone.

The Role: This position involves developing and maintaining D&B’s valuable National Key Account relationships. Responsibilities include opening, managing, and closing long-term, complex solution-led sales, understanding and developing value propositions, creating long-term partnerships, and owning commercial relationships. As a Key Account Associate Relationship Manager, you will focus on categories such as Master Data Management, Credit Risk, Compliance & Supply Chain Solutions, Sales & Marketing Solutions, and Data Analytics. You will execute a defined playbook to maximize retention, identify growth opportunities, and expand your portfolio through upselling and cross-selling activities. This hybrid role requires internal networking and client engagement, using the Challenger sale framework to act as a trusted advisor, support clients in realizing the full value of D&B services, and demonstrate ROI to increase wallet share.

Key Responsibilities

  • Achieve or surpass sales targets while meeting all KPIs
  • Identify and close profitable deals, focusing on upsell, cross-sell, and new business
  • Operate consultatively during sales cycles, presenting solutions aligned with client goals
  • Coordinate with segment specialists and other D&B resources
  • Build and maintain partner-level relationships within client organizations
  • Model team behaviors consistently
  • Report progress against targets using CRM (SFDC) and participate in sales meetings
  • Respond promptly to customer requests and queries
  • Minimize credits, cancellations, and downgrades, maintaining brand integrity
  • Support cash and collection functions to prevent disputes
  • Collaborate with Business Development & Success teams
  • Create account plans for high-potential clients and identify growth opportunities
  • Share client feedback to support product and solution development
  • Promote a high-performance, collaborative culture
  • Maximize exposure of D&B products and maintain a strong opportunity funnel

Key Requirements

  • Think from the outside in, positioning as a trusted advisor, with strong relationship-building and networking skills
  • Proven success in selling complex solutions at the National Account level and consistently overachieving
  • Excellent communication and influence skills at senior levels, including "C" level
  • Understanding of customer processes in marketing, sales, compliance, credit, and purchasing
  • Experience in selling new business from referral to full account management
  • Ability to coordinate team-based selling approaches
  • Effective management of multiple priorities and projects
  • Experience selling B2B data solutions
  • Ability to articulate business goals clearly
  • Degree education or equivalent preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Salesforce
