This role sits within the Investor Outreach team that is responsible for leading FAIRR’s global investor engagement strategy, managing key investor relationships, identifying new partnership opportunities, and driving member recruitment and retention. This includes representing FAIRR at high-profile events, delivering thought leadership, and supporting targeted outreach to key investor segments, including asset owners and fixed income investors. The team ensures that financial materiality is embedded into FAIRR's offering and drives value for investors.
This role will focus on strengthening relationships with specific investor categories and within the European markets. The Investor Outreach Manager will play an essential role in delivering this by identifying and engaging investors, building and maintaining strong relationships by working collaboratively.
Key Responsibilities- Relationship Management and Expansion: Manage the key investor relationships in your priority regions (e.g. European markets), adapting FAIRR’s offer to fit their specific needs and priorities. Lead one-on-one meetings and broader investor interactions to increase awareness of ESG risks and opportunities in the food system. Strengthen ties with existing members, ensuring active participation and expanding connections within their organisations.
- Strategy Development and Execution: Implement and execute the strategy set by the Director of Outreach. Work with the Director of Outreach and other Outreach team colleagues to input into the membership engagement strategy. Help raise awareness of ESG materiality in the food sector and promote ESG integration into investment practices.
- Member Experience: Recommend improvements to enhance member engagement and tailor FAIRR’s messaging and activities to investor needs. Contribute to refining the member journey and improving the team’s ability to deliver value.
- Communication and External Representation: Represent FAIRR at relevant financial and sustainability events to raise the organisation’s profile within the investment industry and share research and updates. Act as a FAIRR ambassador—speaking at events and engaging with media and stakeholders.
- Event Management: Organise events/meetings with investors.
- Training and Development: Support team training to ensure that team members understand and deliver consistent and effective membership experiences. Create educational resources and programs to build investor understanding of sustainability in the food system.
- Administration: Prepare customised communications for specific investors, contribute to board-level reports, and undertake database administration by ensuring that you capture and record your investor interactions on FAIRR’s CRM system.
- Travel: Willingness to travel internationally, particularly within European markets.
- Strong experience in relationship management, networking, and business development—ideally in the financial or consulting sectors.
- Confident leading meetings and pitches with investment professionals, corporates, and policymakers.
- Solid understanding of global capital markets and how different investment roles use ESG data and research.
- Collaborative team player with sharp analytical thinking and commercial awareness.
- Highly organised with strong time management and project management skills.
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent).
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office; experience using databases such as a CRM.
- Background in investment or financial services.
- Skilled public speaker with experience participating in events and media engagements.
- Prior experience organising events.
- Familiarity with responsible investing.
- Established networks among major asset owners.
- Passion for sustainable finance and driving positive change through investment.
- Understanding of food systems and the relevant themes.
