About Us

Insurance Consulting is a small yet globally connected consultancy, working closely with Munich Re Group companies as well as clients of Munich Re’s risk transfer solutions. We are a cornerstone of the Munich Re service proposition, offering distinctive client value that enhances our reinsurance business relationships. Our global team of highly skilled and experienced insurance professionals delivers high-impact consulting services in areas such as Pricing, Underwriting, and Portfolio Management. For our internal stakeholders, we focus on delivering measurable performance improvements. For external clients, we aim to generate tangible outcomes that directly support Munich Re’s reinsurance business.

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Consultant with strong technical skills and prior experience in one or more areas of non-life insurance portfolio management—such as actuarial portfolio diagnostics, business steering, reporting and analytics, accumulation control, or capital management. You may have a background in consulting or have worked closely with business teams in a strategic or technical capacity. What’s essential is your ability to think strategically, engage effectively with stakeholders, and thrive in a collaborative, interdisciplinary, and international environment. We’re looking for someone with a solution-oriented mindset, a passion for delivering high-quality outcomes, and the curiosity to explore new approaches. If you are ready to drive meaningful impact, we’d love to hear from you.

Your Responsibilities

  • Understand client needs and design tailored, data-driven solutions using advanced methodologies.
  • Deliver exceptional outcomes on client engagements; manage workstreams independently and lead smaller projects autonomously.
  • Support client discussions with senior stakeholders and contribute to business cases, RFPs, and proposal development.
  • Collaborate across global Deal Teams with diverse skill sets and backgrounds.
  • Ensure a superior client experience through quality execution and delivery.
  • Track project milestones and support overall project management.
  • Build a strong professional presence through expertise and performance.

Your Profile

  • Tertiary education (BSc, MSc, PhD) in mathematics, statistics, actuarial sciences, or related fields; or professional qualification from a recognized Actuarial Association.
  • Experience in primary insurance with exposure to strategy, operations, PPCU, or insurance technology.
  • Hands-on expertise in one or more aspects of non-life portfolio management, such as business steering, reporting, accumulation control, pricing, or actuarial diagnostics.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a client-focused mindset.
  • High level of ownership, accountability, and a proactive, self-starting attitude.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with senior stakeholders.
  • Fluency in English; additional languages such as Spanish or French are advantageous.
  • Willingness to travel and engage in international assignments as needed.

You will be rewarded with a great compensation package, on target bonus, 25 days annual leave with the option to purchase more along with private medical insurance and employers' contributory pension of 10%. We are one of the few employers to offer fully paid 6 months family leave for times when you need it the most.
