Main Purpose of the Job
To audit domestic gas works including servicing, breakdown repairs, new boiler/heating installations, and investigations carried out by client-appointed contractors. To ensure all works comply with Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations, relevant British Standards, and manufacturer guidelines. To produce detailed, accurate reports using company-issued tablets/laptops outlining inspection findings. To issue Warning Notices/At Risk/Immediately Dangerous notices as appropriate, supported by photographic evidence.

- Audit domestic gas appliances and systems for both workmanship quality and gas safety compliance.
- Undertake relevant training to remain up to date with gas legislation, standards, and procedures.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Site Auditing Duties
- Attend designated domestic properties to audit completed gas works.
- Confirm appointments by phone prior to attending site.
- Conduct visual on-site risk assessments in line with health and safety procedures.
- Inspect the installation, servicing or repair of gas appliances (e.g., boilers, fires, cookers).
- Ensure photographs are taken of any non-compliance or hazards.
- Where necessary, issue appropriate Gas Industry Unsafe Situations Procedure (GIUSP) notices (e.g., AR, ID, NCS).
- Notify the PCM office immediately when unsafe situations are identified.
- Complete and sync audit reports in real time using mobile devices.
- Take a photograph of the entry door or block entry system.
- Leave a No Access card including your contact number.
- Rebook appointments directly with the client if they contact you.
- Inform the office to resend the job to your device.
- Notify the office if you're unable to attend.
- Inform the PCM office immediately with details of the cancelled job.
General Duties
- Achieve personal auditing targets and KPIs set by management.
- Collaborate professionally with Contract Managers, Operations Support, and the wider PCM team.
- Respond to complaints or queries regarding gas works with technical reports or site investigations.
- Maintain full compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Carry out additional duties in line with your role as directed.
Accreditations & Competency Requirements
You must hold and maintain the following valid and up-to-date domestic gas qualifications:
- ACS Gas Qualifications:
- CCN1 (Core Domestic Gas Safety)
- CENWAT (Central Heating Boilers & Water Heaters)
- HTR1 (Gas Fires & Wall Heaters)
- CKR1 (Cookers)
Experience in auditing or supervisory roles in domestic gas compliance is highly desirable. Familiarity with GIUSP, Gas Safe Register requirements, and audit best practices is also desirable.
