Join us as an Actuarial Reserving Analyst to take your career to the next level with an international market leader. Make your mark in Actuarial. Our Actuaries are on the front lines, quantifying risk, pricing insurance and reserving losses for AIG’s major insurance operating companies, globally. We collaborate with Finance, Claims, Operations, Marketing and Risk Management, among other functions. As an AIG actuary, you will be challenged and encouraged to reach your greatest potential to help improve how we predict, manage and mitigate risk.

How you will create an impact:

  • As an Actuarial Analyst within our Reserving team, you will be responsible for supporting the actuarial reserving function across Global Specialty – lines of business include Aerospace, Marine, Energy, Construction and Credit Lines.
  • Work with the actuarial function in key reserving activities, including the assessment of reserves provisions, monitoring of experience, and production of management information.
  • Provide inputs into the Solvency II technical provisions and the calibration of the capital model.
  • Analyse information to assist in determination of the adequacy of loss and LAE reserves.
  • Work with underwriters to understand the business and to share actuarial insights.
  • Assist in the production of key reserving results and analytics to best convey financial results to stakeholders.
  • Contribute to innovation by supporting tool development and enhancements.
  • Be technically proficient using actuarial techniques/concepts/methodologies to both implement and execute actuarial best practices.
  • Ensure data is complete, accurate, adequate and timely, and that we comply with regulatory and risk management procedures.

What we’re looking for:

  • Degree in Mathematics or related discipline.
  • Student member of an Actuarial Institute with partial progression through the exams.
  • 2+ years of actuarial experience within General Insurance.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Strong work ethic with a willingness to learn.
  • Strong MS Excel skills.
  • Coding experience in Python, R, VBA or other programming languages.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
