Introduction to the Finance Team at UMPG UK: The UK Finance team is a central function within UMPG, acting as a trusted partner to the business. We are responsible for delivering insightful analysis, robust financial planning, and commercial support that helps guide strategic decisions across the organisation. Working cross-functionally with senior leaders, A&R, Business Affairs, Sync and Administration teams, the finance team ensures our investments in artists and songwriters are underpinned by sound data, agile planning and informed forecasting. Collaboration, curiosity and integrity are at the heart of what we do.

A Day in the Life of an FP&A Analyst: As an FP&A Analyst at UMPG UK, your day may begin with reviewing forecast variances and providing commentary to the Finance Director. You might then work closely with A&R to model a new writer deal, ensuring commercial viability before it is presented to senior leadership. Later, you'll refine a set of KPIs for performance reporting, partner with international finance teams to consolidate plans, or help build a presentation for an investment committee. Every day offers opportunities to apply analytical skills in support of strategic decision-making - where the numbers you produce help shape the future of our artists and our business.

Your impact in role: In this role, you will contribute directly to UMPG's continued success by:

  • Creating insightful financial models and forecasts that support commercial decision-making.
  • Enabling effective deal analysis to ensure fair and sustainable investments in our writers.
  • Helping the business adapt to a changing industry through data-driven planning and reporting.
  • Supporting senior stakeholders with clear, accurate and timely information.
  • You will be a key part of ensuring that UMPG continues to be a market leader - artistically, commercially and operationally.

Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain forecast and planning models across all UK reporting divisions.
  • Perform in-depth financial and commercial analysis to support strategic decisions.
  • Lead on deal evaluation and financial modelling for artists/songwriters.
  • Prepare board-level investment case presentations and summaries.
  • Design and report KPIs for financial, commercial and operational performance.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across departments and international territories.
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data for internal and external stakeholders.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Strong academic background and fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with 3 to 5 years post-qualification experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in financial modelling, forecasting, and commercial analysis.
  • Excellent Excel skills (up to macro level) with the ability to build and interrogate models.
  • Strong communication skills - able to present financial insights clearly and confidently.
  • Collaborative and team-oriented with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritise in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Passion for music and interest in the entertainment industry.

Desirable:

  • Experience with financial planning systems such as Hyperion or similar.
  • Knowledge of the music, media or creative sectors.
