We are seeking an experienced Car Systems Design Engineer to play a crucial role in designing and integrating key car systems that contribute to our success on the track. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for the design and integration of engine systems, fuel systems, and gearbox cooling systems, ensuring that every detail aligns with our performance goals. Key Responsibilities: * Mechanical Design: Collaborate with the Concept and Aerodynamic teams to design and optimise car systems, ensuring maximum impact on overall car performance. * Component Design: Take ownership of the design and development of engine, fuel, and gearbox systems, ensuring these components are integrated seamlessly into the car. * Problem-Solving: Resolve technical issues and contribute to innovative solutions, driving continuous improvement in car systems design. * Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including Aerodynamics, to ensure all designs meet the highest standards. * Documentation & Reporting: Produce clear, accurate, and detailed design documentation, and communicate progress effectively across teams. * Stay Ahead of Trends: Keep up-to-date with the latest technical advancements in automotive engineering, and apply this knowledge to enhance car performance. * On-Time Delivery: Ensure that all designs are released on target and meet the agreed specifications. Experience and Qualifications: * Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (or equivalent) with strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles. * Extensive experience in automotive design, ideally in Formula 1 or motorsport engineering. * Expert knowledge of metallic materials and their treatments, with a basic understanding of composite materials and production techniques. * Proficient in CAD tools such as CATIA, Siemens NX, or similar, for detailed design and integration. * Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to scope and complete new tasks effectively. * Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to collaborate across teams. * Self-motivated and able to take the initiative, bringing fresh ideas to the table.
