Main purpose of the role: The Production Support group provides second level support to all of the Front Office Trading applications used by our customers, supporting the entire front-to-back lifecycle across all Asset classes for the BGC and GFI brands. Production Support is a global operation with staff in Asia, EMEA, and the Americas regions.
Key responsibilities:
- Providing 2nd line support to a range of internally and externally created trading applications
- Good knowledge of Financial Markets (Fixed Income, Foreign Exchange, Derivatives, Futures)
- Managing the production support incident queue
- Supporting the first line EOperations team
- Liaising with internal and external customers, senior stakeholders, and third-party vendors
- Performing deep dive root cause analysis on issues and raising JIRA tickets for bugs
- Overseeing new projects, ensuring documentation and team readiness
- Identifying process improvements and automating manual tasks
- Documenting issues and new processes
Skills / experience required:
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Experience supporting electronic and voice trading systems
- Highly motivated and adaptable to change
- SQL/Oracle/Sybase experience (not necessarily all three)
- Strong UNIX experience
- FIX protocol experience
- Understanding of STP trade flows
- Good understanding of network connectivity
Advantageous Experience:
- Familiarity with Elastic Stack (Elasticsearch, Kibana, Logstash)
- Experience with DevOps tools such as Ansible, Chef, Puppet
- Familiarity with AWS
- Object-oriented programming experience
- Experience with Jira Service Desk or similar tools
- Experience with Confluence or SharePoint
