Are you a Senior EC&I Design Engineer with extensive design experience in a highly regulated industry? Do you have previous nuclear experience with a strong working knowledge of electrical design, control systems, and instrumentation? Are you SC cleared looking for your next opportunity to work on a prestigious and secure infrastructure project?
Our client is currently seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical, Control & Instrumentation (EC&I) Engineer to support a high-profile nuclear project based in Reading. This role is ideally suited to engineers with strong EC&I design experience within highly regulated industries such as nuclear, defence, or similar. Due to project sensitivities, candidates must hold at least SC clearance, with a preference for those who are DV cleared.
This role will be based in Reading/ Hybrid β Minimum 2 days per week on-site at Reading, remainder remote from home other days (3).
Long Term Contract 13 months +
Hours: 40 hours per week
Security Clearance: Preferably DV cleared;
- Deliver EC&I engineering design packages to a high technical standard and in line with project timescales.
- Cable calculations.
- Provide technical input and problem-solving during the design, installation, and commissioning phases.
- Proven experience as an EC&I Engineer within a highly regulated sector (nuclear, defence, energy, etc.).
- Strong working knowledge of electrical design, control systems, and instrumentation.
- Capable of producing detailed documentation including wiring diagrams, cable routing plans, and calculation packs.
- Competent in relevant software tools (e.g. AutoCAD Electrical, Amtech, or equivalent).
- Knowledge of electrical containment systems and cable routing standards.
