We are looking for an enthusiastic production Chef to work in the Production Kitchen, but who must also be willing to work as part of the wider team to provide services to our patients. The main function of this post is the preparation and production of food for patients, staff and visitors in a clean food safe environment.

Main duties of the job:

  • Carry out cooking tasks in line with standard recipes.
  • Carry out chilling processes according to procedures.
  • Regenerate foodstuffs according to procedure.
  • Adhere to procedures and standards as laid down.
  • Understand the range of work procedures and practices, the majority of non-routine, and have an intermediate level of theoretical knowledge.
  • Have a knowledge of the full range of work procedures, practices and equipment for a catering service, including advanced food hygiene processes; vocational level 3 qualification or equivalent.
  • Have a knowledge of special diets acquired through training and experience to diploma equivalent level.
  • Plan and organise straightforward activities, some ongoing.
  • Organise daily work plan – prioritising, cooking methods, times and procedures; Reorganise menus at short notice.

Education, Qualifications and Training:
