The role of Technology Manager, Automation Transformation within the Industrial Transformation Group involves providing leadership and delivering specific functions or large programmes for clients across various sectors, including aerospace, defence, and security. You will work with manufacturing clients through the MTC structured engagement process and delivery methods, utilizing discovery processes to assess current manufacturing operations and identify opportunities for productivity improvements and technology insertion, aligning with their business strategies. Collaborating with colleagues in the Automation Transformation team, you will help achieve the objectives of the team, the wider Technology Adoption Department, and the Industrial Transformation Group.
Main Responsibilities:
- Leading projects with manufacturing clients at their sites.
- Conducting client discovery workshops to gather relevant information.
- Identifying and exploring opportunities for deploying manufacturing best practices and technologies.
- Defining work packages with clear value propositions.
- Delivering programmes to enhance volume, quality, or efficiency through new equipment, processes, and methods.
- Upscaling and industrializing prototype production.
- Identifying technology opportunities to support strategic growth through workshops.
- Developing pilot programmes, including planning for technology selection.
- Providing technical leadership on client projects, leading multidisciplinary project teams.
- Training and operating as a Technical Governor on nominated projects.
- Delivering work packages using the Automation Transformation project framework, including automation discovery, feasibility, and supplier engagement frameworks.
- Maintaining and developing the system integrator supply chain database.
- Supporting Technology Groups in developing technology solutions.
- Performing technical and administrative roles to ensure effective delivery of MTC’s business.
