This is a fantastic and challenging opportunity for an Electrical Engineer/Electrician seeking employment in an expanding and thriving company. The company provides hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and electrical services to customers across multiple sectors. The ideal candidate will be an integral part of the technical team who have support from the UK’s largest fluid power specialists. This role is biased towards electrical panel building, commissioning and installations within a wide range of applications and industries. An understanding of Hydraulic & Pneumatic components such as Pumps, Valves, Actuators, Filtration and associated Fluid Power applications would be an advantage. Ongoing training will be provided.

Scope:

  • Working alongside the Senior Electrical Design Engineer to layout and build electrical control panels, installation of cable management systems, cable tray and conduit.
  • Carry out repairs of customer equipment and plant within our busy workshops and at customer sites.
  • Work as part of the Workshop & Engineering team, being a self-starter with experience in this environment.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and maintain a friendly and approachable “can do” attitude.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a team and support timely delivery of items and solutions to our customers.
  • Establish, develop and maintain effective working relationships with all work colleagues and customers.
  • Undertake any other duties as may reasonably be required in line with the level of responsibility of the post.
  • Be enthusiastic and adaptable as there may be occasional times when assistance with our Site services team will be required.

Key responsibilities:

  • Carry out electrical builds, repairs, fault diagnosis, commissioning and installations both in our workshop and on site as required.
  • Read electrical drawings and technical diagrams to determine layout of electrical wiring.
  • Test electrical control systems and components to ensure they are correctly configured.
  • Fault find electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems using various diagnostic tools.
  • Follow safety procedures and regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Test and document electrical aspects of hydraulic/pneumatic systems & compressors in our workshop and on customer’s site.
  • Electrically install hydraulic/pneumatic systems at customers' premises as part of a team.
  • May be required to attend breakdowns at very short notice; some overtime and weekend working will be required.
  • Report as required within area of responsibility.

Desirable:

  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, regulations and procedures (18th Edition, Machinery directive 60204-1, Safety of Machinery 13849-1, Low voltage directive).
  • ECS gold card – Maintenance or installation electrician.
  • PLC control system knowledge; training will be provided for the right candidate.
