Job Introduction
What you'll do
You will ensure our heat network meets technical regulation requirements and our customer's expectations. You will bring together internal and external stakeholders to operate our heat networks efficiently. You will assist with the technical aspect of contract management and be NHG's eyes and ears on site.
How you'll do it
You will support the contract management of installation, maintenance, and effective operation of heat network equipment (Boilers, Chillers, Fan coil units, HIU's, Valves Meters, PAYG devices & metering systems) deployed within our developments and homes. You will assist the energy team prepare for HNTAS regulation and reporting. You will work closely with our consultants and contractors to deliver an exceptional service and build upon the reputation NHG has built within the industry. You will carry out audits on all works carried out on commercial heating systems, commissioning, commercial gas safety checks, HIU services and maintenance of heat metering equipment. This role will be an integral component to ensure NHG meets the requirements of HNTAS requirements.
The ideal candidate
You will have a minimum of 10 years experience in the heating industry with the last 5 years working on or managing heat networks and communal heating systems. You will be able to offer strong technical advice to our delivery offers, housing officers and contractors. You will be able to articulate praise and technical issues in a contract meeting environment communicating effectively and professionally. Using a variety of data sources you will determine where our heat networks are underperforming and ensure our contractors take appropriate action to rectify or increase system efficiency and delivery. You will be able to identify breaches of regulation and specification and work with contractors to rectify the situation.
Essential:
- Must have strong IT skills including inputting and uploading data accurately.
- Competent with Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Excel.
- Have valid Commercial & Domestic Gas Qualifications - COCN1, CIGA1, ICPN1, TPCP1/1A, CCN1, CENWAT, CKR1, HTR1 (Minimum six months remaining prior to renewal of certification).
- Previous experience in a service and maintenance environment.
- Experience of building services engineering within district and community heating or large-scale plant rooms/energy centres.
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Experience of writing reports and collecting all relevant data and presenting it in a way everyone can understand.
- Full driving license.
- Ability to interpret and utilise heat meter data.
Desirable:
- Contractor management skills, especially ability to challenge and motivate.
- CIBSE CP1 qualified or willing to work towards.
- Experience and knowledge of heating control systems is also preferred (Trend and equivalent).
