We are seeking a visionary and technically adept Senior Data Strategist to architect and lead data-driven initiatives. Full-time role with Ascendion. Location - Bromley, UK. Hybrid working.
You will work closely with business, engineering, and analytics teams to create a unified data strategy, modernize legacy systems, and implement next-generation platforms for advanced data capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and execute the data strategy, aligned with business and digital transformation goals.
- Design modern data Lakehouse application architectures integrating structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data using technologies like Delta Lake, Apache Iceberg, or Apache Hudi.
- Lead the development of scalable data architectures across on-premises and cloud platforms.
- Develop robust data models (conceptual, logical, physical) for transactional, analytical, and real-time applications.
Required Skills & Expertise
- Proven expertise in data architecture, design patterns, and large-scale data platform design.
- Strong background in designing and implementing modern data Lakehouse architectures.
- Deep experience in data modelling across transactional, dimensional, and data lake paradigms.
- Practical knowledge of metadata management and enterprise data catalogues (e.g., Alation, Collibra).
