This role is based in Blackfriars, London. We are on the hunt for a best-in-class, visionary Senior Event Director to lead Africa Tech Festival and supercharge its next phase of growth. This is a uniquely entrepreneurial role with huge opportunity to make a personal impact on the future of Africa's premier tech event. Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Own and deliver the strategic vision and 3-year growth plan for Africa Tech Festival
  • The overall design, delivery, and commercial success of Africa Tech Festival
  • Delivering accelerated revenue growth
  • Delivering an exceptional experience for Africa Tech Festival attendees and clients
  • Stakeholder management with key industry and government representatives
  • Leading a high-performing cross-functional team, ensuring seamless collaboration across Content, Marketing, Sales, and Operations
  • Leading the development of our Connecting Africa media brand
  • Being the figurehead for Africa's largest and most influential tech gathering

  • In-depth knowledge and experience of the B2B event world
  • Commercially astute with proven experience as a practical deliverer
  • Experience of managing large-scale event budgets
  • Extensive event project management experience
  • Demonstrable experience of the ability to forge positive relationships with multiple different internal and external stakeholders
  • Passion for technology and the tech start-up ecosystem
  • Embodies humility with a genuine willingness to share knowledge, listen actively, and collaborate with others
  • Experience working in or with African tech markets, or with emerging tech ecosystems, is an advantage
