Working closely with the broader finance team, this role is hands-on and ideal for someone who enjoys solving problems, ensuring data accuracy, and contributing to a best-in-class finance function.
You will be responsible for delivering timely, accurate month-end close outputs, including bank and PSP reconciliations, revenue accounting, and the verification and accounting of revenue share payables. You’ll also collaborate cross-functionally with data, compliance, and commercial teams to ensure that our financial records are complete and aligned with the wider business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and deliver key aspects of the monthly close process, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines
- Perform and review bank reconciliations, investigating discrepancies and ensuring balances are accurately recorded
- Own the PSP reconciliation process, ensuring settlement and transactional data align with accounting records
- Reconcile and maintain key balance sheet accounts, including deferred revenue and player balances.
- Ensure accurate and consistent revenue recognition across sportsbook and casino, working with internal systems and data teams.
- Reconcile reported revenue and cost of sales against source data, including promotional deductions and adjustments.
- Verify and account for revenue share liabilities to third-party suppliers and partners based on contractual terms.
- Help improve accounting workflows, with a focus on automation, accuracy, and scalability
- Maintain clear documentation for all reconciliations and accounting processes
- Work collaboratively with the other Finance Manager to ensure consistency and efficiency in how the function operates
- Liaise with external advisors (e.g. accountants, auditors) to support statutory and tax requirements.
- Assist with preparation of management reporting packs and variance analysis
- Provide accurate, timely financial data to support commercial and operational decision-making
- Coordinate with FP&A and data teams to ensure financial reporting aligns with forecasts and KPIs.
Key Competencies & Skills:
- Strong commercial acumen and the ability to understand and influence business drivers
- Expertise in assessing commercial deals from both a financial and accounting perspective
- Experience in business partnering, ideally within the online gaming, betting, or technology sectors
- Proficiency in financial modelling, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with senior stakeholders
- High attention to detail with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
- Advanced Excel and financial systems knowledge; experience with BI tools is a plus
Qualifications & Experience:
- Part-qualified accountant (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ACA) actively working toward full qualification
- Experience in month-end accounting and financial control, including reconciliations and revenue processes
- Familiarity with payment service providers (PSPs) and working with high-volume transactional data
- Good understanding of UK GAAP/IFRS and their application to revenue and cost accounting
- Prior experience in the online betting or gaming industry is a strong plus, but not essential
