Exciting opportunity for a full-time Consultant in General & Colorectal Surgery. The post holder will play a key role in building a high-quality clinical service by bringing new skills to the Colorectal & General Surgery team. The successful applicant will also contribute to the care of general surgery inpatients and participate in the surgical on-call rota.
The candidate must have and maintain full GMC registration and be on or within six months of being admitted to the GMC's Specialist Register for General Surgery. The ideal candidate will be a committed clinician with a proven track record in clinical service delivery, quality improvement, teaching, and training. Participation in annual job planning and appraisal is required for revalidation.
Main Duties
The post-holder reports to the Divisional Director of Planned Care. This is a 10 + 1 PA post, including 8.25 PA DCC, 1.75 SPA, and 1 PA DCC on call. SPA duties include clinical and educational supervision, audit, CPD, and mandatory training. The role involves participating in the surgical on-call rota (approximately 1:10) and the 1:5 EGS rota. The post involves working closely with colleagues to support quality improvement and service development.
