We are delighted to be expanding our Value and Trade Planning team here at John Lewis Partnership as we look to appoint a Pricing and Value Analyst. The main purpose of the role is to analyse Waitrose's pricing and promotional activity, providing recommendations to reassure customers on value and insights on the implications of changes to customer direction. The Value Analyst will support key trading areas on performance analysis, develop recommendations for promo cap targets and secondary space allocation, and support the strategic development of data collection methodology and reporting outputs, all with a customer first mindset.

  • Hours and location of the role: 35 hours per week
  • Your home location will be our Bracknell Head Office
  • The Partnership has adopted a hybrid working approach meaning you'll be able to work a mixture between the office and home based upon your personal needs whilst balancing the needs of the business. The team work from the office 2 - 3 days per week, typically Tuesday to Thursday, to connect and also to attend key meetings on an ad-hoc basis

Key responsibilities:

  • Support the analysis of Waitrose pricing and promotional activity and proactively make recommendations so as to reassure customers on value
  • Provide insight and analytics on implications of changes to customer direction both short term and long term across the key commercial metrics
  • Support key trading teams on the insight and analysis of event performance
  • Develop recommendations and implications for promo cap target and secondary space allocation to deliver the customer plan, supporting the delivery of incremental sales and margin
  • Support the strategic development of data collection methodology, data management and reporting outputs

This would suit someone who:

  • Has a good level of analytical ability, including some experience of complex financial modelling and analysis, performed at pace with a high level of accuracy
  • The ability to distil complex analysis into clear findings and recommendations that can be easily understood and acted upon by the business
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, and able to connect and influence at all levels across the Partnership
  • Demonstrable evidence of providing strong analysis and insight which have identified issues and opportunities that have added value to a business
  • Demonstrable experience of framing issues, conclusions and recommendations to enable quick decision making
  • Ability to prioritise effectively and manage multiple projects at the same time
  • Customer first mindset and proactive on market movement

  • Data analysis and data visualisation experience
