Freelance Quantity Surveyor

Role: Freelance Quantity Surveyor (procurement and preconstruction) Rate: Up to £400pd. (CIS) Location: Mansfield, full-time office based Contract Length: 6-months with likely extension ***This role requires someone with extensive procurement and preconstruction experience Overview We’re recruiting an experienced client-side Quantity Surveyor to lead the preconstruction and procurement phases of a major housing refurbishment programme for a respected local authority. Projects include kitchens, bathrooms, roofing, and fire protection upgrades. Responsibilities * Prepare detailed cost estimates and feasibility reports. * Manage tender processes and contractor selection in line with public sector regulations. * Advise on contract strategy, value engineering, and cost risks before works commence. Person * Experienced Quantity Surveyor * Strong client-side background * Experience with public sector procurement * NEC and JCT contract experience * Must be able to commute to the office 5-days per week Remuneration * Competitive day rate, up to £400pd. depending on experience * Long term contract, initially 6 months with likely extension * CIS or PAYE umbrella payments, paid weekly Atkins Search act as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and an employment business for the supply of temporary workers.
