Groundworks Estimator – Leading RC Frame & Groundworks Contractor
Location: Hatfield (Head Office based)
Salary: Up to £90,000 (depending on experience)
Ridgeway & Co are partnered with a well-established RC Frame & Groundworks subcontractor, currently seeking a skilled Estimator to join their commercial team at their Hatfield head office. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with one of the most respected names in the groundworks sector, supporting tenders on a wide range of residential and commercial schemes across London and the South East.
Key Responsibilities:
- Pricing of groundworks and RC frame packages ranging from £1m to £25m
- Reviewing and interpreting drawings, specifications, and bills of quantities
- Preparing accurate take-offs and cost plans
- Working closely with the pre-construction and commercial teams to develop tender strategies
- Liaising with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations
- Supporting bid submissions and post-tender negotiations
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Estimator with a groundworks subcontractor
- Strong technical knowledge of earthworks, concrete structures, drainage, and external works
- Ability to read and interpret complex drawings and specifications
- Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent attention to detail and time management skills
- Based within commuting distance to Hatfield, or willing to travel
