Special Needs Teacher in Rotherham, S63

£183.00 - £260.00 per day

Start date: 1st September 2025

Contract type: Temp - perm following 12 weeks successful temporary placement

Working hours: Monday – Friday, term time only

Unique School Solutions are supporting a Special Needs school in Rotherham, who are needing a SEND Teacher to work in one of their sensory classes. You will be leading a class of up to 10 students, who all have a minimum of 1:1 Teaching Assistant support. All students are aged between 11-16, and have ASD (low-functioning through to high-functioning) and PDA. You will also be expected to work closely with Speech and Language therapists and Occupational therapists, to ensure the students receive the best level of education and care they can. The role is to start in September 2025 and for the right person could lead to a permanent job after 12 weeks.

Essential requirements for the role:

  • Previous experience working within a Special Needs school or similar setting
  • PGCE and Qualified Teacher Status
  • An understanding of sensory curriculums
  • The ability to work alongside specialists such as Speech and Language therapists and Occupational therapists
  • The ability to manage and lead a large team of Teaching Assistants
