About the role: We’re looking for an enthusiastic and motivated SHEQ Coordinator to join a growing team. This junior to mid-level role is ideal for someone early in their health & safety career, who’s eager to learn and grow in a hands-on, site-based environment. The company has a £100M+ turnover business with over 300 employees and a reputation for delivering fast-paced, high-quality retail and solar projects across the UK. With a relaxed, open, and supportive culture where wellbeing and professional development matters. You’ll work closely with Project Managers and site teams on a range of construction and retail fit-out projects including reconfigurations, refurbishments, and Solar PV installations for clients like Sainsbury’s and Pets at Home. You’ll be joining a small, supportive Health & Safety team, reporting to the H&S Manager, shadowing senior H&S advisors and external auditors during onboarding, working closely with Project Managers and Site Managers. Our team culture is collaborative and coaching-led, perfect for someone developing in their career, as this role is strongly site based, you must attend head office in Castleford at least once a month.
Person Specifications:
- Essential:
- NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate
- Basic understanding of CDM regulations
- CSCS card eligible
- Comfortable using digital tools and apps for documentation
- Strong communicator with relationship-building skills
- SMSTS / IOSH Managing Safely
- IOSH or IEMA membership
- Asbestos Awareness
- Experience in retail fit-out or construction
