This role would suit someone who leans into analysis to identify issues and get to the root cause. Coming up with new ideas and delivering practical solutions is critical for both engineering and operations.
Ideally, you’ll have worked in food production or another fast-paced industry. Maybe you’ve already stepped up to lead a small team - or you’re ready for that next move.
What you’ll be doing:
- Keeping a close eye on equipment performance and finding ways to reduce downtime
- Implementing robust maintenance plans for plant and equipment
- Carrying out analysis on downtime and breakdowns using root cause analysis to identify trends and drive improvements
- Taking a detailed and refined approach to monitoring and testing equipment performance and reliability
- Making sure the CMMS is used effectively, and data is monitored and acted upon
- Managing and working closely with one direct report
- Ensuring all work meets food safety, health & safety, and compliance standards
- Ensuring availability of spare parts and inventory
- Working with production teams to solve problems and get things back on track quickly
What we’re looking for:
- Engineering experience in food, FMCG, or another fast-paced environment
- Some supervisory or managerial experience
- A solid understanding of maintenance, compliance, and safety standards
- Someone practical, hands-on, and down-to-earth
- A team player who leads by example, builds rapport, and works well with all functions
- Ideally, electrically biased - but not essential
- Experience using CMMS systems and a strong understanding of reliability and compliance
- Full UK driving licence

The wider team is well established, so there’s a great opportunity to learn from their experience and knowledge.
