Location: Leeds, LS14, West Yorkshire

Hours: 37.5 hours per week - Four-week rolling rota with varied shifts between 6am and 10pm, Monday to Friday, and includes one Saturday shift per month

Salary: £29,000 per annum

Are you a compassionate and experienced mental health professional ready to lead and inspire a team? This is an exciting opportunity for a Mental Health Team Leader to join our brand-new service. We have 4 self-contained apartments & 6 ensuite bedrooms, alongside this there is a second location which is 11 two bedroom apartments. These residential services provide a step-down environment for individuals on their journey to independent living.

About the Role:

As Team Leader, you'll play a key role in delivering safe, high-quality, and recovery-focused care. Working in close partnership with the Registered Manager, you'll provide day-to-day leadership, mentor staff, promote a positive and inclusive culture, and ensure our residents are supported to reach their full potential.

Annual leave starts at the statutory minimum, with extra days at 2 and 5 years' service. Refer a Friend scheme - earn up to £500 per referral. Health Cash Plan - covers dental, optical, virtual GP, counselling, and includes discounted gym membership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support the team daily, including training and mentoring.
  • Ensure service quality, compliance, and safety with CQC and company standards.
  • Promote recovery-focused, person-centred care and maintain high-quality documentation.
  • Manage senior staff, support recruitment, training, and appraisals.
  • Oversee health and safety, risk management, and incident reporting.
  • Assist with operational tasks like rota planning, budgets, and maintaining the service environment.
  • Support referral processes and maintain good communication with internal and external teams.
  • Encourage professional development and promote equality and respect.
  • Deputise in the absence of management and take part in the local on-call rota.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience supporting individuals with complex mental health needs.
  • Strong leadership, mentoring, and organisational skills.
  • Knowledge of CQC standards, safeguarding, and clinical governance.
  • A recovery-focused mindset and commitment to person-centred care.
  • Experience with audits, care planning, and leading a team effectively.
