We are working with a well-established insurance business, and they are looking for an experienced HR officer to join the business ASAP. This is a hybrid working role - 2 days from home and 3 days in the office. Ideally candidates will have experience within a professional services environment and the role would be ideal for an experienced HR Assistant looking for the next step in their career, or a seasoned HR Officer looking for a new role. The role is truly generalist and will have exposure to all areas of the employee life cycle supporting a client group of c70 employees and will include ER, HR advice and guidance, recruitment, L&D and supporting with a new system implementation.
Key duties and responsibilities will include:
- Working as part of a team of 5 people and supporting c70 employees with the full employee lifecycle
- Deal with various HR queries across the business, building strong business relationships through the provision of excellent service and support to line management on a wide range of HR issues
- Advise line managers on policy and procedures ensuring consistency and compliance
- Participate in the conduct of disciplinary/grievance investigations
- Manage end to end recruitment campaigns, including conducting interviews, providing candidate feedback to managers etc
- Design and write training material and deliver bespoke courses to meet the needs of the business
- Source appropriate, cost-effective development solutions to meet needs identified with the corporate plan
- Use HRIS to access, input and compile data (use of Workday and Cascade would be useful)
- Ensure employee records are maintained
- Contribute to ongoing HR initiatives and projects as required
- Maintain knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice
For this role candidates will need to have proven HR experience at this level, ideally hold CIPD Level 5 (or working towards) and have experience within a similar sector i.e., insurance, financial services, law firm, accountancy practice or professional services. A confident, professional, and outgoing approach is required, with strong communication and interpersonal skills, as you will be liaising with stakeholders across the business and written communications must be highly accurate.
