Hybrid working, mostly remote. You will need to attend Bridgwater in Somerset, once or twice a month for meetings.

Are you an experienced product copywriter with expertise in SEO and a keen eye for detail? Toolstation is looking for a Product Content Writer to join our Customer Team and play a key role in optimising our online product descriptions and transactional content.

As a Product Content Writer, you will be responsible for continuously improving our digital product content to enhance search engine visibility and empower customers with clear, informative product details. You'll work closely with various teams to ensure new products are launched efficiently and existing content is consistently optimised.

Specifically, you will:

  • Create SEO-optimised category and facet content to support strategic 'category overhauls'.
  • Ensure all product content clearly communicates features, advantages, and benefits.
  • Collaborate with product data, merchandising, and commercial teams for timely SKU launches.
  • Identify opportunities for new categories based on new product introductions (NPI) and optimise new landing pages.
  • Actively participate in NPI process improvement sessions.
  • Work with the SEO Lead and agency partners to identify and act on optimisation opportunities across various page types (Departments, PLPs, Facets, Brand pages).
  • Methodically optimise Product Detail Pages (PDPs), including titles, descriptions, and metadata.
  • Identify content opportunities to differentiate Toolstation from competitors.
  • Champion the brand tone of voice for digital.
  • Analyse and report on performance metrics pre and post optimisation.

What you'll bring:

  • Experienced product copywriter/proof-reader with keyword research and SEO experience.
  • High attention to detail and highly analytical. You're able to analyse and interpret data to create the right content.
  • Experienced user of PIM and/or CMS systems.
  • Advanced experience with SEO tools such as Google Analytics, Ahrefs, Similarweb, Semrush or similar.
  • Advanced excel, google sheets and/or smartsheets user.
  • Teamwork and collaboration. You understand the importance of cross functional and team collaboration and look for ways in which to support others.
