The Sainsbury Centre is a world-renowned art museum with a celebrated collection in the UK. Founded in 1973, it offers a unique museum experience with indoor galleries and a 20-acre sculpture park.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Gallery Technician to join the Sainsbury Centre Technical team. Key duties include:

  • Assisting in the movement, handling, and packing of artworks within galleries and stores, as well as during deliveries.
  • Undertaking packing/unpacking, hanging, and installing artworks for collections, exhibitions, and loans.

Requirements include:

  • A minimum of/equivalent to NVQ 3 or demonstrable experience.
  • Knowledge of risk assessment procedures.
  • Experience with AV/IT equipment.
  • An interest and experience in woodworking and machinery are desirable.

This part-time (0.4 FTE) role is available from 1 August 2025 on a fixed-term basis for 12 months. Further benefits include 34 days annual leave (including Bank Holidays and university days) pro-rata for part-time staff.
