Somerdale Pavilion Trust is currently looking for a Kitchen Assistant to join our growing team! Here at Somerdale Pavilion, our aim is to provide a diverse menu designed to cater for a wide variety of dietary requirements, cooked freshly on site. We also cater for corporate buffets and other events. We are looking for someone to work within our existing team to deliver excellent service to our customers and community.
Your main duties and responsibilities include:
- General cleaning (including washing up)
- Preparing ingredients
- Washing and chopping vegetables
- Preparing dishes
- Observing correct cooking times and temperatures
- Using cooking equipment, utensils, and machinery (e.g., saucepans, pans, chopping boards, knives)
- Keeping work stations and surfaces clean and tidy
- Following company policies and procedures
About you:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Flexibility in working hours
- Excellent organisational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Team player with the ability to use own initiative
- An interest in the food and hospitality industry
- Level 2 food hygiene certificate is preferred, but full training will be provided
This is a part-time casual position. Further information on hours will be discussed at interview and may include some Saturdays. Rate of pay depends on age and experience.
