SGS is seeking a reliable and proactive Inspection Support Operative to assist our busy Inspection department. The role involves basic inspection support tasks including sample collection/delivery, site visits, equipment handling, and documentation transport.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect samples from vessels, shore tanks, and retail forecourts in line with client and industry standards
  • Transport samples and documentation to/from vessels and labs
  • Maintain inspection stock and sampling equipment
  • Support compliance with safety, health, and COSHH standards
  • Work closely with the operations and laboratory teams to meet tight client deadlines

Qualifications:

  • No prior experience is required for this role — full training will be provided.
  • We are looking for a reliable, hardworking, and flexible candidate who is ready to take on a hands-on role.
  • Comfortable with outdoor, hands-on work
  • Flexible and able to work independently to strict timelines
  • Full UK driving license
  • Strong communication, literacy, and basic IT skills

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of COSHH and oil/chemical sampling
  • Experience in an industrial or oil & chemicals environment
