Are you an experienced Trainer who wants to make a difference to our new members of staff? We are recruiting for a Trainer in our Slaughter Department. This is a full-time, permanent position working 37.5 hours per week with a competitive salary.
Responsibilities include:
- Training all new starters and maintaining competency levels of current Slaughter Operatives, ensuring consistency and compliance with client specifications and company SOPs.
- Conducting departmental induction for all new Slaughter Operative hires, including PPE requirements, knife safety, quality standards, SOPs, and customer specifications.
- Monitoring, developing, and encouraging compliance to PPE, knife safety, quality standards, SOPs, and customer specifications among current staff.
- Maintaining a thorough understanding of customer specifications and yields.
- Rolling out specification changes or new requirements with Supervisors to ensure full understanding and compliance.
- Assisting in managing daily production targets and suggesting resourcing solutions.
- Performing slaughter and finishing tasks at line speed.
- Participating in Lean Manufacturing processes and embracing new work methods.
- Completing tasks timely to meet yield targets.
- Ensuring product quality and reporting issues immediately.
- Working with the team to set up lines and ensure materials are ready.
- Performing pre-start, hygiene, and safety checks.
- Complying with quality specifications and understanding yield values.
- Following health and safety rules, including hygiene requirements.
- Reporting equipment issues and accidents or near misses, assisting with investigations.
- Minimising waste and finishing products to specifications.
- Maintaining and storing tools and equipment securely.
- Participating in all required training and assisting in performance and talent identification.
- Performing other duties as instructed by management within the post's competency.
