The Catering to You - Patient Dining Associate is responsible for assisting our patients with menu selections and works hand-in-hand with our Food and Nutrition Department. This individual will work closely with our clinical staff regarding patient nutrition needs or requirements and use this knowledge to cater to specific patient requests and needs all the while keeping meals nutritious and satisfactory.
Responsibilities
- Maintains accurate and current information for each patient on assigned unit(s).
- Demonstrates knowledge of modified diets, proper condiments and related restrictions for diets based upon passing a written test provided by clinical staff. Reports patients understanding of diet to Dietitian / Diet Technician.
- Assists Dietitian with monitoring of patients who are NPO, on liquid diets or need to have intake recorded.
- Accurately and effectively adapts to Physician-ordered modified patient diets and ensures an efficient timing of services by providing quality patient customer service.
- Assists patients with menu selections and works hand-in-hand with our Food and Nutrition Department with assembling selected meals on trays and with the delivery and pick-up of meal trays.
- Communicates any patient/resident related problems to appropriate personnel, in a timely manner.
- Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
- Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
Qualifications
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs.
- Customer service skills.
- Proficiency with basic computer skills.
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing patient needs.
- Strong sense of accountability for improving the lives of our patients and their caregivers.
- Exceptional focus on teamwork.
- Dedication to ongoing education.
- Ability and passion to deliver the highest quality of care based on a strong sense of patient focus.

Compensation
Starting at $17.38 Hourly
