Are you looking for an exciting opportunity in the insurance industry? Our Fleet and Specialist Product team are currently going through a great period of growth which has opened a lot of opportunities for our colleagues! We are currently recruiting for an underwriter to join our team! As an underwriter, your main mission will be to provide exceptional support to our clients and agents, ensuring the conversion of new business. This will also include servicing existing accounts and meeting retention targets.

Communication is key in this role as you will be dealing with enquiries via email, telephone, virtually and on occasions face-to-face. You will also be expected to carry out any additional tasks instructed by your Head of department.

Location: Formby, Liverpool

Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 9:00am until 5:30pm

What you’ll be doing:

  • Respond to inquiries from clients and agents in a courteous and helpful manner, ensuring that all information required is obtained and communicated.
  • You will be responsible for rating of new Business and renewal risks working within parameters set out by Haven.
  • Ensuring that all quotations logs and folders are kept accurate and up to date.
  • Confidentiality assisting other team members when required.
  • To keep the department working environment safe and ensuring all health and safety procedures are adhered to and any issues are reported to your head of department.
  • To ensure compliance with FCA regulations as laid down and notified by the company.

  • Competent in all Microsoft tools with emphasis on excel (formulas, pivots tables).
  • Confident on the phones and dealing with queries.
  • Always providing excellent customer service when speaking to clients and agents always upholding the company values.
  • Positive outlook and able to deal with challenges calmly.
