As part of the Flexible Pipe Systems team based in Newcastle UK, you will be joining an established business and team with expertise in pipe design, manufacturing, and installation. This unique combination allows our customers to increase production and asset integrity whilst reducing the overall costs associated with a pipeline system.
As a Quality Inspector, you will be responsible for overseeing the final quality of our innovative energy products. You will keep records up-to-date and use a variety of inspection equipment to proactively test and report any defects.
As a Quality Inspector, you will be responsible for:
- Reporting directly to the Quality Control Supervisor, responding to a wide variety of Quality control related issues.
- Liaising with functional groups for all Quality Control related activities/problems.
- Interfacing with Customer/Third Party/certifying authority representatives, as required.
- Providing technical support/guidance to work centers for training process inspectors.
- Writing and revising quality control procedures and related forms.
- Assisting in failure analysis.
- Performing Receiving Inspection.
- Completing pipe maps.
- Administration/sign off/verification of inspections.
- Verifying dimensional and inspection reports for product conformance.
- Assuring identification and traceability of product and materials at all stages of manufacturing process.
- Writing detailed reports as required.
- Generating Non-compliance reports (NCRβs) in accordance with applicable procedures.
- Random verification and audit of inspection activities and laboratory testing to support shift.
- Performing calibration of measuring and test equipment.
- Inspecting and approving formed Flexlok and Carcass profile samples.
- Participating in Continuous Improvement initiatives.
- Providing Technical support to work centers & projects on Quality Control requirements.
- Performing any other duties as directed by the Quality Control Supervisor.
To be successful in this role you will:
- Have a ONC/HNC from an accredited college, university, or trade school, or equivalent experience in Quality Control within a manufacturing environment.
- Have working knowledge of ISO/API Quality Systems, Quality practices and applications, and Continuous Improvement Tools.
- Have the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and detailed drawings.
- Be competent on all process inspection activities.
- Have working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
