My leading and rapidly growing MSP client is seeking an experienced SQL Database Engineer to join their Data Ops technical team and provide SQL database delivery and support. This is a customer-facing role, mainly focusing on support, requiring hands-on, in-depth technical skills and excellent communication skills. You will be forward-thinking, familiar with service architectures, customer-focused, and self-motivated with the requisite drive to improve database services and the overall user experience.
The role:
- To provide exceptional quality database delivery and support services
- Interacting at all levels with Customers and strategic key stakeholders
- Providing 3rd line database support and strategic consultancy
- Explaining technical concepts and the underlying principles to solutions during customer engagements
- Out-of-hours delivery and support - Via an on-call rota for which there is an on-call allowance
- Producing a high standard of documentation, handovers, and mentoring of both customer and internal resources as required.
Candidates must have the following skills / experience:
- The ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Demonstrable professional experience with SQL database specialism technologies, including evidenced delivery and production support experience
- Multiple version and edition capability with SQL databases
- Strong analytical ability to support complex problem solving
- A passion to learn and develop skills with new and existing database technologies
