Are you a highly motivated individual looking to start or expand your aquaculture career? We are currently looking for a passionate and highly motivated individual to make a difference at the Company's Seawater site at Ardintoul. The role is challenging, but ultimately very rewarding and can lead to a variety of fulfilling career progression opportunities.
This post is offered on a full time, permanent basis. The successful candidate will be required to work 40 hours per week, any 5 days out of 7. On site accommodation available.
About the job:
- Leading on feed, control and inspection of fish
- Site housekeeping and maintenance
- Inspection and maintenance of equipment and facilities around the farm
- Identification and reporting of sea lice levels
- Monitoring and maintaining fish health and welfare
- Daily environmental checks
- Boat handling around the farm
- Maintaining high biosecurity levels
- General farm tasks to keep the whole operation running
The ideal candidate should have an interest in the aquaculture industry and be willing to learn. They will be willing to expand their understanding and work hard on the job. Experience is desirable, but not essential as training will be provided.
You will be required to hold, or able to obtain, and retain an ML5 or ENG1 medical certificate. A flexible approach to working to meet the demands of the job is necessary, along with a positive attitude and willingness to learn. Ability to understand the aims of the site and to support the rest of the team to achieve these is important. Respect for the need for safe working practices is essential. A driver's licence is also required; however, if you do not have one, we can help with the cost of lessons.
