Most of our work is taking responsibility for storing and delivering large, heavy, bulky items – the kind of work that typically needs two people to handle. Quite often these items need installing, which we do too.

  • Leading, guiding and motivating your team of skilled Shift Managers, First Line Managers and service delivery crews.
  • Efficient fleet utilisation, resource planning and cost control while ensuring the operation is both effective and compliant.
  • Being the site expert for legal compliance and safety, ensuring your sites consistently operate safely and legally.
  • Identifying opportunities for improved efficiencies within the Transport function, recommending and implementing changes where needed and sharing best practice across our network of hubs.
  • The resourcing, development and management of all colleagues within your team.
  • Making prompt decisions which protect customer service and our delivery schedule, as well as remaining commercially focused.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • At least 3 years’ operating as a Transport Manager within a medium/large-scale transport operation.
  • Demonstrable experience improving transport operations and introducing operational excellence.

  • Hold a national CPC.
  • Demonstrable commercial and financial acumen.
  • Strong people skills – able to influence, coach and develop.
  • Full UK driving licence.

In addition to a competitive salary, you’ll receive many excellent additional benefits including:

  • Hybrid Working Options – opportunity to work from both the office and from the comfort of your own home.
  • Annual Leave – 33 days entitlement (including statutory bank holidays) which increases with service.
  • Comprehensive Pension Plan – with additional contributions.
