Royston Town Council is seeking a reliable, proactive, and hands-on Caretaker to join our team and play a key role in the day-to-day upkeep and smooth running of Royston Town Hall. This is a varied role that also includes supervising the caretaking team, helping to coordinate duties, ensuring high standards are maintained, and supporting colleagues as needed.

PART-TIME ADMINISTRATION OFFICER

Hours: 30 hrs per week, 9:00am – 3:30pm (including a 30-minute unpaid break)

Salary: £20,711 actual (pro-rata) / SCP 7 – £25,544 FTE

We’re looking for a dedicated Administration Officer to support our small, welcoming team here at Royston Town Council. This interesting and diverse administration role includes providing PA support to the Mayor, Deputy Mayor, and Town Crier. If you’re someone with strong communication skills, confidence using social media, and solid IT experience – we’d love to hear from you!

DEPUTY CHIEF OFFICER

Permanent, Full Time, 35 hours per week (excluding 30-minute unpaid break)

Salary – SCP18 - £30,559 per annum rising to SCP21 - £32,115 per annum when CiLCA qualified

We are looking for an Office Manager who can also, once CiLCA qualified, become deputy Chief Officer. This role provides efficient and effective support to the Chief Officer in the day-to-day management and running of the Town Council. Duties and responsibilities include accountability for the effective management of office resources and staff, representing the Chief Officer or Council as required, deputising for the Chief Officer as required. The role requires preparation of agendas for various Council Committees as well as recording minutes and decisions, preparing reports and actioning any items arising from those meetings. Part of the role is management of the Council’s community events programme.

All posts carry 25 days annual leave (or pro-rata) + Bank Holidays and automatic enrolment in the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS).
