§ Has responsibility for complex account management, risk selection/rejection, pricing, retention, growth and profitability within scope of authority and per company objectives.

§ Uses independent judgment and initiative to support business goals. Maintains a high level of customer service. Receives and analyses submissions and determines terms to offer (policy limits, deductibles, coverage options and conditions, etc.)

§ Prices business in accordance with company guidelines. May conduct investigations of new and existing accounts through business owners (banks, owners, creditors, debtors, architects, engineers, criminal record checks, on-site visits, etc.)

§ Develops and maintains effective business relationships with both internal and external customers / colleagues in order to attract, grow and retain profitable PI business.

§ Visits business producers and insurers in order to retain existing accounts, builds and maintains business relationships and develops new opportunities in support of company objectives.

COMPLIANCE

  • Assesses risk quality and compliance within company guidelines. Orders and analyses miscellaneous business reports needed in the rating and underwriting processes, including credit checks, bank agreements, financial statements and underwriting surveys.

  • Applies underwriting rules and guidelines, rating manual rules, and insurance laws and regulations.

  • Ownership and continuous review of the compliance plan, ensuring processes are in place for the management and maintenance of client files and monitoring programme.

  • Prepares effective internal and external communications on underwriting issues and produces monthly MI reports outlining progress against the plan on behalf of the company Board.

  • Ensure the maintenance of claims, conflicts of interest and complaints registers, putting in place plans to protect the business through training, high levels of service and compliance.

This role is ideal for an ambitious underwriter with previous experience underwriting PI products and someone who enjoys managing relationships with distributing brokers and the insurers. You will be joining an ever expanding team that is part of a wider group of companies which will only help to take your career to the next level., * Excellent understanding of the PI industry with a broad knowledge of PI products

  • A professional insurance qualification e.g. ACII, or DipCII

  • 5+ years experience working within the PI market

  • Ideally trained in auditing with experience of managing and preparing files ensuring compliance

  • Excellent decision making and negotiation skills

  • Ability to build rapport at all levels and communicate effectively

  • Experience managing for high performance in a fast paced, pressurised environment

  • Competent in the use of Microsoft packages (word, excel, PowerPoint) and CRMs (e.g. Salesforce)

You need to have 5 years experience in PI Underwriting role.

You need to live in the London area so you are able to travel to London for work events.

This role is currently remote, however, the company are looking into getting a office in the London area.

Qualification – CII (Preferred)

Pre-employment screening checks will be undertaken prior to any formal offer being made. These will include references, right-to-work check and soft credit searches.
