Role Overview: We have an exciting opportunity for a Business Acceptance Assistant to join a specialised team in supporting the wider business with onboarding and anti-money laundering. You will work with our centralised Business Acceptance team, servicing our UK and international clients based in our Liverpool office with the ability for some home working.
This is an interesting role where you will be able to build key relationships with internal clients, dealing with fee earners in our UK and international offices including Hong Kong, Singapore, Monaco and Greece. The role is subject to strict regulation, and you will need to be able to follow standard operating procedures as well as use your judgement with support from the wider team.
You will work closely with the team who will provide full compliance training for this specialist role. This is a superb career opportunity for anyone looking at a career within the compliance area. Knowledge of client onboarding and anti-money laundering regulations is desirable but not essential, as full training will be given. Importantly, an appetite to learn and be a team player is the key driver.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting the client onboarding processes by incepting new clients or amending existing records, performing searches and conflict checks in accordance with Compliance and Anti-money laundering regulation and internal protocols
- Assisting with the creation and maintenance of client records; opening client records within service delivery time scales
- Assisting with projects as and when required
- Liaising with other departments to request information/documentation in accordance with Regulation/procedure
- Assisting with general data maintenance β amendments/deletions
- Sanctions screening
- Assisting with Anti-Money laundering compliance and due diligence checks, including international client due diligence and international client inception vetting
- Supporting the team with service reviews as and when required to aid any compliance issues or service delivery reporting
- Assisting with team reporting
- Supporting the business with enquiries and queries
- Assisting management with routine enquiries whenever required
- Monthly reporting to Senior Compliance Management
- Assisting with AML risk assessments
What Are We Looking For:
- Proven experience of working in a busy office environment
- Competent IT skills in Microsoft applications
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to follow processes and complete work within a set timeframe
- Ability to work well under pressure and to meet strict deadlines
- Demonstrable excellent communication and organisational skills
- A βcan doβ attitude

- Previous experience in a law firm or professional services
- Previous business acceptance experience
