My client is a global manufacturing company specialising in the innovative design and production of electrical / electronic components. They work within markets such as distribution, industrial and instrumentation, medical, military, aerospace, automotive and telecommunications. The role of Product Environmental Compliance Specialist will be to analyse existing and upcoming Materials Legislations across the globe, and assess the impact on the business, implementing the necessary actions to ensure they remain compliant at all times. Some of your responsibilities will be but not limited to; Prepare appropriate declarations for customers; RoHS – Restriction of Hazardous Substances; REACH – Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation & Restriction of Chemicals; Conflict Minerals; Anti-Bribery and Anti-Corruption laws; Anti-Slavery (Human Trafficking, Modern Slavery Act, Child Slavery); Other Material Compliance statements as required; Administer and provide first line of communication with external Compliance Agency; Work with Design Team on the necessary checks when specifying new materials and products (RoHS, REACH, CMRT); Respond to all customer questions / enquiries; Work with Purchasing to maintain the list of current suppliers and added products; Assisting with developing the business Code of Business Conduct; Counterfeit Goods and Compliance Testing; Member of Export Control Team; Assisting the review / auditing of product Commodity Codes. In order to be considered for the role you will have; * Either a degree level within a related Environmental focused discipline or an equivalent qualification; Demonstrable experience of working within an environmental compliance or similar compliance role; Ability to work both independently and collaboratively to achieve environmental and legislative goals; Good working knowledge of current materials legislation and its application, especially environmental permitting including the following: RoHS – Restriction of Hazardous Substances; REACH – Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation & Restriction of Chemicals; Conflict Minerals; Anti-Bribery and Anti-Corruption laws; Anti-Slavery (Human Trafficking, Modern Slavery Act, Child Slavery) o Other Material Compliance statements as required; Excellent competency and experience in the recording and manipulation of quantitative data using spreadsheets; Experience of dealing with multiple stakeholders; Ability to interpret legal, scientific and technical information; Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Good organisational and problem-solving skills; Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
