We’re currently looking for a Gardener to maintain a large site of mature gardens & wildflower meadow areas within our village. You can count on a thorough induction when you start to help you settle into your new role followed by ongoing training and development including access to apprenticeships. This also includes access to our online portal which has a variety of resources to aid personal development & free access to LinkedIn's online learning platform.
You’ll Help Us Make Health Happen By:
- Maintaining the village gardens, supporting with grass cutting and shrub bed maintenance, weed control, litter-picking, leaf clearance and watering.
- Ensuring the grounds are tidy and removing any litter. Cleaning out drainage ditches and culverts as required.
- Providing a first-class horticultural environment for our residents, liaising with contractors where appropriate.
- Advising the management team on potential gardening issues and helping to plan areas that require improvement.
- Supporting our maintenance operatives with any repairs that may need completing such as fixing fences or painting outbuildings.
Key Skills / Qualifications Needed For This Role:
- Friendly and approachable, you’re passionate about gardening and have a keen eye for detail, you may even have an NVQ in Horticulture.
- With previous experience of general gardening or grounds maintenance, you’re comfortable with the safe use of chemicals under COSHH regulations.
- You’re adaptable and organised and happy working as part of a team, supporting the maintenance team as and when required.
Because we care for vulnerable people, we’ll need you to complete a DBS check as part of the recruitment process. Bupa will cover the cost of this (£40).
