The predicted salary is between 50000 - 70000 £ per year.

Salary range: £50,000 to £70,000 per annum depending on experience.

Location: Leatherhead, Bristol, Burton on Trent, Gloucester, Glasgow, Manchester or Plymouth.

Working Pattern: We operate a flexible hybrid working pattern at Frazer-Nash, with time split between the office, client sites and working from home.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated individual with a passion for assessing highly complex multiphysics systems, supporting the design and assessment of critical assets. If you are a capable engineering consultant with a background in complex structural assessments, dynamic response, acoustic and flow related multiphysics effects and testing and validation we would welcome your application.

We support our clients by delivering expert guidance on the safe and efficient operation of their assets across all industries. The projects we deliver focus on high value, high performance and/or safety critical assets and spans the full lifecycle from substantiation of new designs to supporting life extension of critical plant.

We are looking for experienced engineers with a background in advanced structural dynamic analysis, acoustic and flow effects, in addition to experience in test validation of complex multi-physics analysis. Experience in fatigue assessment and design, coupled with demonstrable experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA), fatigue, fracture, plant investigations, failure analysis and fitness-for-service methods is also important. Specific experience in fluid-structure interaction, flow induced vibration and acoustic induced vibration will be valuable.

It is beneficial if you have experience in industries such as nuclear energy, power generation/energy sector, however experience from other engineering sectors is also desired. A consultancy background with experience in developing new business and delivery through the entire project cycle would be welcomed, but is not essential.

Essential Requirements
  • A degree in engineering or equivalent. MEng, MSc or a PhD.
  • Ability to travel and conduct site visits, customer meetings, and plant walkdowns.
  • Deep technical knowledge in the mechanical / structural engineering domain, with familiarity across other disciplines.
  • Experience with Finite Element Analysis (preferably Abaqus, Ansys or LS Dyna, Actran or Wave6).
  • Experience in assessing acoustic, vibro-acoustics and flow effects on structures.
  • Experience in testing and validation of complex analysis.
  • Experience with codes and standards, such as ASME III, ASME VIII, API579, BS7608, BS7910, R5/R6.
  • Experience in a customer facing role for both project delivery and business winning.
  • Recognised by peers / industry as a trusted advisor in your discipline.

Due to the nature of the work that Frazer-Nash Consultancy undertake, candidates will be required to undergo pre-employment screening and must be able to satisfy clearance criteria for UK National Security Vetting.
