We are looking for a Waste Operative to join our Building Services Team in Mansfield. Working as a Waste Operative you will be responsible for supporting the department in delivering a comprehensive estates service across all areas of activity. To provide a compliant waste service across Kings Mill Hospital.
What you’ll do:
- Operating the waste compactors and cardboard bailers in the FM Yard.
- Moving and emptying wheeled waste bins into the compactors using the bin lifting equipment provided.
- Checking waste removal receipts and ensuring they are all passed to the Waste Manager.
- Dealing with contractors on the yard, signing and collecting documentation and consignment paperwork.
- Undertaking salting and gritting of the FM yard and waste areas.
- Pushing or pulling bins loaded with waste up slopes and around the FM yard.
What you’ll bring to the role:
- Experience of working within a team.
- Basic knowledge of waste.
- Good understanding of health and safety relating to waste and related equipment.
- Good communication.
