Salary: £24,000 – £30,000 per annum (pro rata, depending on experience)

BHPP Academy, in partnership with Hertford Town Football Club, is excited to recruit a Sports Lecturer to join our part-time further education programme. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate and qualified sports educator to make a real impact on the next generation of players and professionals.

We are primarily looking for a teacher to deliver high-quality classroom learning, with the possibility of coaching one of our football teams on matchdays (Wednesdays) if desired. This flexibility makes the role ideal for educators with or without a coaching background.

You will deliver NCFE Level 3 Sport qualifications as part of a structured and supportive college programme aimed at preparing learners for progression into apprenticeships, employment, or higher education.

About the Role

  • Part-time hours: Monday, Tuesday & Thursday, 8:30am–2:00pm (plus planning and marking)
  • Term time only
  • Delivery of classroom-based NCFE Level 3 Sport qualifications
  • Optional coaching of a BHPP Academy football team on Wednesdays (matchday)
  • Support with GCSE Maths & English delivery where required
  • Contribute to a positive, inclusive learning environment

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience working in a college, training provider, or sports education environment
  • A degree-level qualification (essential)
  • Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training, or willingness to work towards
  • QTLS and/or PGCE (desirable)
  • An interest in football coaching (desirable but not essential)
  • A passion for developing young people and helping them reach their full potential
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
